Through the eyes of a child....

Having a 17 month old in the house will definitely keep you on your toes but I wouldn't have it any other way. He loves playing outside and is fascinated with nature. He gets so excited when he sees birds in the sky. He will gasp and point. I love it! It is amazing to see the world through the eyes of a child. The wonder and awe of God's awesome creations in his eyes is just the most incredible feeling ever!  Everything is new to him. I would love to be able to remember the first time I learned what grass is or when I smelled my first flower or explored the great outdoors.  Everyday is a new adventure for him.  If only adults could have the same enthusiasm about life as a child. We can learn a lot about how to live by modeling a child.  We get so bogged down with the stress and hustle and bustle of life that we forget to stop and say "Thank you Lord" for your awesome creations that you have made.  My goal is to slow down and just "be" and savor these moments with my family.  I was thinking last night, that I am beginning to forget the small things about Hayden when he was little.  Did I ever stop and take in the moment or rush through to get the next task done??? I don't ever want to forget the sweetness of his smile and the pure joy his little laugh gives me.  That's why this blog is so important to me.. TO not forget..  I remember the big stuff but it was the everyday details that are lacking.  I have to take the time.  Before I know it he'll be all grown up and I won't be able to be his hero anymore like I am today by simply showing him how to hit a balloon into the air? I am sure I will long for the days like today for him to throw his hands in the air and to just hold him.  I love those moments.  So, Mr. Hayden Mattox, thank you for teaching your mommy what is important in this life and what unconditional love really means!
