I haven't posted in a while and Hayden's closer to 19 months old now.. We just had his 18 month old checkup and he is growing like a weed. He's 31lbs (95th percentile), I forget the lenght but it is in the 75th percentile and his head is in the 90th percentile. He has to have his hearing checked in June to make sure he is hearing ok with the second set of tubes. He can say roughly 10-12 words and he is trying to say more everyday. Everything right now is no, stop, don't, "go, go". He can also say, momma (which he doesn't say that often), daddy, dog, cat, burd (bird), Kisti (his babysitter Kristi), Ja (for James), outside, and tanku (thank you). He is in to everything as most little boys are at this age.
Here's a funny story..
The other day, I was cleaning the bonus room upstairs and Hayden was downstairs with his daddy. I heard him crying and just thought he was mad at Brooks for going outside. So, I didn't rush to see what was going on but he kept crying. I went down stairs and saw that he had gotten his head STUCK in the banister!!! Now, Hayden doesn't say "YES" at all to anything so this is a rare occasion. Here's how the conversation went.. Me: OMG Hayden, are you stuck, Hayden: "YES"
, I have to laugh at it now because I have been arguing with my boss forever because he thinks Hayden has a big head. And now here my son is with his head stuck in the banister! So, I tried with superhuman strength to get him out and I couldn't. I ran and got Brooks to help. While waiting on Brooks to get in from the garage, I figured out that the top of the banister was wider than the bottom so I just raised him up and his head came out. Brooks got there after I released my child and the conversation went like this.. Brooks: I thought you'd learned your lesson the first time Hayden not to do that. ME: What? He's done this before?!? Why didn't you tell me. Brooks: You never asked. MEN!
