Fun in the Sun!

We have been in Florida for three days now and I have stored up so many memories with my mom and dad and Brooks and Hayden. We went to the beach yesterday (Cocoa Beach) and Hayden got to see the ocean for the first time! He was in awe of it!  I took pictures of him walking from the pier to the sand and when he got to the sand he stopped, reached down to touch the sand then he fell to his belly to lay in it! How amazing! My son took time to relish in a moment and got to play in one of God's great gifts to us. He loved the ocean.  We couldn't keep him out of it.  He would run into the waves then run away from them.  Oh to be so free like Hayden. Not a care in the world. Just a child playing with no fear.  He played in the water for about an hour and a half then he passed out. Literally, in Nanny's arms.  While he napped, Brooks and I  rode the waves.  I have always been afraid of what was underneath the water but this trip, I didn't have that fear. I guess if my 20 month old can walk in the water fearless, why shouldn't I? Trust and Faith are two things he taught me yesterday.  The last time Brooks and I were at the beach was in February of 2008. This was about two weeks before we got pregnant with Hayden. So much has taken place since our last "dance" in the ocean. Secretly, I am hoping for the same magic to happen again from this trip. Can dancing in the ocean be the trick to getting preggers again? It certainly did work the last time.
Anywho,
Today is the 4th of July and I am so thankful for the men and women who have sacrificied their lives to give us freedom! I only hope that the freedoms we have today are still here for Hayden's children and grandchildren.  So for today, we are going to celebrate.  We are heading to the pool in a little while, then it is bbq on the grill then fireworks. I love being here with my mom and dad.  I miss them so when they are away.
